Heidi Montag is expecting her second child with Spencer Pratt.
The 35-year-old Hills veteran shared the happy news with UsWeekly on Wednesday morning as she was seen in photos showing off her pregnant belly. She also told the outlet that she is due in December.
The couple already have son Gunner, age four.
'I couldn't be more excited. I don't know who I'm the most excited for — myself or Gunner or Spencer,' Montag shared with the site.
The blonde beauty had been trying for a while to get pregnant again. In 2019 she relayed to Entertainment Tonight that she was actively working on it with Pratt.
She never gave up because she felt a deep yearning for a second child, she told UsWeekly.
'I just felt like something was missing. I felt like a person was missing in our family that I had this intense love for,' said the reality TV star.
'And I kept praying about it. I'm like, if I'm not meant to have another kid — because I had accepted that at this point — I just wanted to not have that desire so strongly and I just wasn't sure if it was going to happen or not. I just get so emotional about it.'
Spencer has said it has been hard trying for the second child as there has been a lot of heartbreak along the way.
According to the couple, they were at it for many years and that was hard on Heidi.
'Heidi has been crying a lot. It's like every month, "Here we go." I was like, "If it happens, it happens." But Heidi didn't want to do it that way,' he shared.
'It was so long at this point I don't know if I have any emotion left because it was very challenging.'
It took 18 months of trying their best to conceive before she found out she was with child.
At one point, their Hills costar Brody Jenner offered to pay for their IVF.
It is not known if they used IVF to get pregnant again.
'I think a lot of women struggle with this and it’s just not something a lot of people talk about because it’s so hard and it’s so personal,' noted Heidi.
'And I felt really blessed having Gunner and having such a beautiful healthy son, so I was trying not to be ungrateful for my life and for what I do have,' the star said.
'And at the same time, it was such a deep longing in my heart that I had — wanting a sibling for Gunner and wanting to expand our family.'
In August 2021 she had surgery to improve her chances of getting pregnant.
The star had a hysteroscopic polypectomy procedure to remove uterine polyps.
Uterine polyps are noncancerous growths attached to the inner wall of the uterus that can be associated with infertility, according to Mayo Clinic.
'I was feeling nervous last night about it, but I'm excited today,' Montag said in a video shared to social media after the surgery.
'I'm hoping that the surgery works and that this is the only reason I haven't been able to get pregnant... I'm excited. Please, God, I pray that I'll be able to get pregnant after this.'
Montag and Pratt, 38, wed in 2008.
