‘Friday the 13th’ Prequel Series ‘Crystal Lake’ From Bryan Fuller Ordered at Peacock - Variety

UPDATED: Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to a “Friday the 13th” prequel currently titled “Crystal Lake,” Variety has learned.

Exact plot details are being kept under wraps, although it is described as an “expanded prequel.” The show will be written by Bryan Fuller, who is also the showrunner and an executive producer. Victor Miller, who penned the original film in the franchise, will also executive produce along with Marc Toberoff, Rob Barsamian, and A24. A24 will also serve as the studio behind the series.

“’Friday the 13th’ is one of the most iconic horror franchises in movie history and we were dying to revisit this story with our upcoming drama series ‘Crystal Lake,’” said Susan Rovner, chairman of entertainment content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “We can’t wait to get to work with Bryan Fuller, a gifted, visionary creator who I’ve had the pleasure of being a longtime friend and collaborator, along with our incredible partners at A24, in this updated version for Peacock that will thrill long-standing fans of the franchise.”

Miller and Toberoff, his attorney, were previously involved in a lengthy court case in an attempt to obtain the rights to the original film’s screenplay for Miller. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in Miller’s favor in 2021, giving him the U.S. rights to the screenplay. Miller and Toberoff have non-exclusive foreign rights as well and by bringing in Barsamian, the project has access to all of the other elements from the films.

Fuller is known for creating or co-creating shows like “Hannibal” at NBC, “Pushing Daisies” at ABC, “Dead Like Me” at Showtime, “American Gods” at Starz, and “Star Trek: Discovery” at Paramount+. He is also known for his work on “Star Trek: Voyager” as well as “Heroes.”

He is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Ziffren Brittenham.

“I discovered ‘Friday the 13th’ in the pages of Famous Monsters magazine when I was 10 years old and I have been thinking about this story ever since,” Fuller said. “When it comes to horror, A24 raises the bar and pushes the envelope and I’m thrilled to be exploring the camp grounds of Crystal Lake under their banner. And Susan Rovner is simply the best at what she does. It’s a pleasure and an honor to be working with her again.”

The original “Friday the 13th” was released in 1980. In that film, Jason is a child who drowns at Camp Crystal Lake. His death leads his mother Pamela to seek revenge against the counselors she blamed for her son’s death. It grossed nearly $60 million against a reported budget of $550,000.

Since then, there have been eleven further films in the franchise, including “Jason X,” “Freddy vs. Jason,” and the 2009 reboot. Jason became the main antagonist beginning with the second film.

Note: An earlier version of this story stated that “Crystal Lake” would not be able to use elements from any “Friday the 13th” films except for the first film. The story has been amended to reflect that it can, in fact.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid spotted together at Halloween bash - Page Six

Leonardo DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid, who were first linked in September, were spotted hanging out this weekend at Circoloco’s massive Halloween bacchanal at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

We hear the “Titanic” star and the model, along with her sister Bella, model Irina Shayk and art dealer Helly Nahmad arrived aboard party bus.

“Leo wore a [scary] mask most of the night unless he was drinking,” says a spy. “The group got bottle service.”

Stella Maxwell and Yankees star Giancarlo Stanton also attended the party, which was one of Rob Toma’s Teksupport events. Also there was “House of the Dragon” star Matt Smith, who we hear was dressed as a vampire.

We hear DiCaprio’s mask was “half monster, half zombie.”

Reps for Hadid and DiCaprio did not respond to request for comment.

The famously private “Shutter Island” star, who normally hides under a black baseball cap and medical mask, has been known to go to Halloween parties incognito. We reported that he was a “100-year-old man” last year and fooled guests at a large party.

DiCaprio and model Hadid were first romantically linked in September during Fashion Week. Page Six exclusively reported they were hanging out at a loft party in Soho. They were also spotted at Casa Cipriani.

A source told us at the time that the pair were “getting to know each other” and were “taking it slow,.” They’ve “mostly [been] hanging out with groups and solo a handful of times,” said an insider.

Later that month, the “Revenant” star was spotted in Milan the same day Hadid walked in the Versace Spring/Summer 2023 fashion show.

Kim Kardashian mistakenly shows up to Tracee Ellis Ross' party in costume - Page Six

Maybe she just Skimmed the invitation.

Kim Kardashian showed up to Tracee Ellis Ross’ pre-Halloween birthday dinner dressed as “X-Men” character Mystique — only to find out no one else was in costume.

“That time I showed up to a birthday dinner in full costume when it wasn’t a costume party!” the “Kardashians” star captioned a selfie with the “Black-ish” alum on her Instagram Story on Sunday.

The photo showed Kardashian wearing a red wig, creepy colored contact lenses and a skintight blue latex bodysuit. While the Skims founder looked unrecognizable, apart from her famous curves being on display, Ross was unmistakably herself, wearing a red sequined jumpsuit with a matching jacket.

“Happy Birthday to the most beautiful kind soul @traceellisross,” Kardashian, 42, added in her tribute to the actress, who turned 50 on Saturday.

The reality star was most likely still in costume from her other Halloween festivities with her family.

Later in the evening, Kardashian attended a Halloween party where she hung out with Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Sylvester Stallone says his brief split from wife Jennifer Flavin was 'a very tumultuous time' - Yahoo Entertainment

Sylvester Stallone opened up about his marriage, fatherhood and politics in a revealing new interview.

During a conversation with the Sunday Times, the Rocky star, 76, spoke openly about his split from wife Jennifer Flavin, which occurred when she left him back in August and filed for divorce after 25 years of marriage. However, the couple reconciled the next month.

“Let’s just say that it was a very tumultuous time,” Stallone explained. “There was a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family. It takes precedence over my work and that was a hard lesson to learn.”

Upon their reconciliation, a spokesperson for the couple told Page Six, "They decided to meet back up at home, where they talked and were able to work out their differences. They are both extremely happy."

The couple share three daughters. Looking back on his earlier days of parenting, Stallone — who also has two sons, including Sage, who died in 2012 — expressed his deep remorse for being an absentee father who was entirely focused on his film career.

“I didn’t pay enough attention when they were growing up,” Stallone admitted. “I was so career-oriented and now I go, ‘OK, I don’t have that much runway up ahead and I want to start asking them about their lives.’ I ask them about their day and they started at first a little monosyllabic. Then I heard one say, ‘I was just thinking about you.’ Oh my God. I’ve never heard that before in my life. When a daughter knows you care, she’s there forever.”

Stallone also revealed how he came to understand politics, recognizing that he was often assumed to be a member of the Republican Party, despite voting for both parties at times. That association with Republicans came largely from the patriotic point of view of his films.

“I didn’t even know what a Republican or a Democrat was until I was 30 years old,” Stallone shared. “I really didn’t until I went to Hollywood. I didn’t know wrapping myself in a flag in Rocky would throw down the gauntlet.”

While his hugely successful Rambo franchise immediately associated him with military skills and firearms knowledge, the actor and director says he has mixed feelings about certain aspects of gun control, including the popularity of automatic weapons.

“I don’t see a purpose in hunting with a 40-round magazine,” he said. “If you can’t hit something in five shots, then you’re not a very good hunter. To be able to buy a weapon that I can change in one second to automatic? I don’t see it. You can’t take guns away, they’ve been ingrained for 250 years, but you have to take the irresponsibility out of it.”

Melanie "Mel B" Brown will soon be heading down the aisle!

The Spice Girls member, 47, appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox in the U.K. on Friday, when she dished about the details of her recent engagement to her boyfriend of three years, hair stylist Rory McPhee.

Sporting her signature animal print, Brown cozied up to her friend, comedian Ruby Wax, who asked her about the engagement.

"He said, 'I love you, you're my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,' " Brown recapped, then noting that McPhee, 36, popped the question while they were on a getaway in Berkshire.

"There were rose petals everywhere, a log fire, a hotel — which was Cliveden. It was very romantic. I love flowers," she added to Wax.

McPhee, who worked with Brown on this season of The Masked Singer, often posts hairstyles he gives his now-fiancee on his Instagram account.

Representatives for Brown did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

The pop star was previously married to Jimmy Gulzar from 1998 to 2000, and the pair have a daughter, Phoenix Chi, 23. Brown was also married to Stephen Belafonte from 2007 to 2017, and together they share custody of daughter Madison, 10.

Brown was also in a prior relationship with Eddie Murphy, whom she shares a daughter, Angel Iris, 15, with.

Brown and her daughters shared a hilarious interaction on Instagram in July, when the girls couldn't identify their famous mother's own music.

As she read lyrics to the Spice Girls' 1997 hit "Who Do You Think You Are" to her girls, Madison guessed the singer was Lady Gaga, before then suggesting it was Adele.

"My kids have no clue when it comes to Spice Girl Songs," Brown wrote as a caption on one of the Instagram clips.

Angel, however, went on to encourage Madison to sing the next line, as Brown continued with more lyrics. Angel finally realized the answer, yelling, "It's you, it's the Spice Girls!" as Madison smiled.

"So spice girls may have sold over 100 million records but I think I need to buy one more album for my kids," she captioned the follow-up clip, along with a cheeky emoji.

She’s a Barbie girl!

On Friday, Rebel Wilson and friends donned their best pink looks and rocked protective packaging as part of their Barbie Halloween costumes. The actress, her girlfriend Ramona Agruma and a few pals got all dolled up to celebrate spooky season.

The group sported blonde wigs, high heels and Barbie-pink attire — including their own Barbie packaging emblazoned with the words "limited edition."

The costumed crew shared their Halloween look with Instagram.

"Come of Barbies let’s go party! Happy Halloween!" the Senior Year star captioned the post. Wilson accessorized her Mattel-chic look with a pair of cool sunglasses.

"A A A YEA," commented actor Simu Liu.

"Haha Yas this is so good," added Bachelor star Brittany Hockley.

"Stop! I’m obsessed with this!!" wrote Pitch Perfect actress Shelley Regner.

The Daily Mail reported that the Barbie crew were later spotted at the Casamigos Halloween Party Returns in Beverly Hills.

Wilson announced that she and Agruma were dating in June 2022 with an Instagram post of her cozying up to her partner, who is the founder of Los Angeles-based sustainable clothing brand Lemon Ve Limon.

"I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince...," Wilson captioned the photo, "but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess." She added rainbow and heart emojis and the hashtag, "Love is love."

In May 2022, the Isn't It Romantic? actress told the Betches Media's U Up? podcast that she was "happily in a relationship," but she didn't reveal the person's identity.

She explained then that she had gone on an impressive 50 dates in 2019, as part of what she termed a "Year of Love."

"Some of them were just one date and then you think, 'Oh, no,'" she said. "I deliberately wanted to push myself to date a bunch of people and gain that experience, which I know is not normal, but it really helped me find out what I liked and what I didn't like. It was a fun thing and I don't think anybody got hurt by it or anything and nobody else knew — just me and my close friends."

The Australian-born star said she had a rule for herself, which was never to turn down a date.

"I went on some dates with some billionaires and then also some people who had nothing, it was the full spectrum of people," she said. "For a woman my age — at that point I was 39 — I really wanted a relationship, but I had only had a few small relationships, so I had to just get more practice in dating."

The star has previously been linked to Jacob Busch, an heir to brewing company Anheuser-Busch, and tennis pro Matt Reid.

Here are some 2022 Halloween costume ideas that say 'I go online!' - Dazed

It is no longer enough to dress like an evil slag. The annual tradition of wearing something unusual on October 31 is nothing if not an excuse to trumpet your vast cultural capital. Heaven forbid you wear some black tights and pencil on a couple of measly whiskers or, I don’t know, dress as a Marvel character. You should want your costume to say “Yes, I surf the web!” You should want people to know that you have a Twitter account and that you keep abreast of the discourse! You don’t want to actually SCARE people, you want them to say “Uh yeah, that rings a bell I think?”

Oh sorry! Did you and your boyfriend want to go to the party as Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly?? Sweetie, yesterday’s news is today’s chip paper!! Had you one iota of what was going on in the world you might have realised that, actually, people are going as lettuces this year – yeah, just the most hilarious bit of Great British Banter that happened to grace the timeline last week. But what if you live your life untethered to the news cycle? What if you DID want to go as a superhero? Thankfully, we’ve done the emotional labour (a bit of content) for you. Read below and you might avoid being ostracised for forgetting about a thing that happened the other month – like when the Tories said we need to drink sewage.

Jerry Lee Lewis, Rock Pioneer and ‘Great Balls of Fire’ Singer, Dies at 87 - Variety

Singer-pianist Jerry Lee Lewis, the hell-raising, larger-than-life rock ‘n’ roll pioneer and latter-day country star, has died, according to a rep, Zach Farnum. He was 87.

His death had erroneously been reported by some outlets on Wednesday.

“Judith, his seventh wife, was by his side when he passed away at his home in Desoto County, Mississippi, south of Memphis,” Farnum’s statement said. “He told her, in his final days, that he welcomed the hereafter, and that he was not afraid.”

Lewis — an inaugural inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, a 2005 recipient of a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award and, at the age of 86, a 2022 inductee of the Country Music Hall of Fame — was a powerhouse keyboardist, mercurial vocalist and rampaging, unpredictable showman who could master virtually any song, be it rock ‘n’ roll, country, R&B, gospel or pop.

Lewis ultimately transcended category. With typical arrogance, he would frequently declare that there were only four real stylists in American music: Al Jolson, Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams and, of course, Jerry Lee Lewis.

The late journalist Nick Tosches, Lewis’ great Boswell, captured some of his titanic dimensions in his book “Country,” published in 1977 during his country resurgence: “Believe it: Jerry Lee Lewis is a creature of mythic essence….He was — and in a way still is — the heart of redneck rock ’n’ roll, and one of the greatest country singers who ever lived.

“He is the last American wild man.”

In 1958, at the age of 21, after he attained national success with his pounding rockabilly singles “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” and “Great Balls of Fire,” his career hit the wall with the scandalous revelation of his marriage to his 13-year-old cousin. It took him a decade to regain his commercial footing with a series of powerful honky-tonk ballads.

Known universally by the self-established sobriquet “the Killer,” Lewis was notorious for his drinking, drugging, womanizing and pistol-waving pugnacity. The opening epigraph in Tosches’ classic 1982 biography “Hellfire” is a quote from the musician: “I’m draggin’ the audience to hell with me.”

Yet, for all his well-documented excesses and dark, lurid history, listeners returned to embrace him over the course of seven decades.

Despite sustaining a hedonistic pace that would kill lesser men, he outlived all his ‘50s contemporaries, including Elvis Presley, whom he followed to fame at Memphis’ Sun Records in 1957.

He was born Sept. 29, 1935, in Ferriday, La. (hence his early professional nickname, “the Ferriday Fireball”), and began playing piano at the age of nine. As a boy, he hung out at Haney’s Big House, a local honky tonk, with his cousins, evangelist-to-be Jimmy Lee Swaggart and future country singer and club owner Mickey Gilley. His principal keyboard influences were country boogie stylist Moon Mullican, Nashville barrelhouse pianist Del Wood and San Diego-bred boogie-woogie player Merrill Moore.

In 1952, during a trip to New Orleans, 16-year-old Lewis cut his first demos — a Lefty Frizzell cover and an original off-the-cuff boogie instrumental — at Cosimo Matassa’s storied J&M Studio on Rampart Street. By his late teens, he was working at the Blue Cat Night Club in Natchez, MS, and fronting a 20-minute weekend radio show there. A horrendous student, he dropped out of high school; his frustrated mother enrolled him in an Assembly of God Bible school in Texas, from which he was swiftly expelled for applying boogie-woogie to the hymnal.

He married twice in his teens, and fathered a son by his second wife: Jerry Lee Lewis, Jr., who would drum behind his father before he was killed in a single-car accident in 1973.

Summarily rejected by Slim Whitman when he applied for a touring unit of Shreveport’s Louisiana Hayride, Lewis drove to Memphis in early 1956 to audition at Sun Records. The label had recently sold Presley, its star act, to RCA Records for $35,000, and had become a magnet for every aspiring hillbilly singer in the South.

Lewis impressed Jack Clement, Sun’s engineer and second-in-command to owner Sam Phillips, sufficiently enough to secure an opportunity to record for the label. He cut a couple of singles — his debut release was a cover of Ray Price’s country hit “Crazy Arms” — and contributed studio support to other Sun acts.

On Dec. 4, 1956, he was at Sun’s Union Avenue facility when Presley returned; an impromptu date with Sun’s then-current star Carl Perkins and Lewis (but minus label mate Johnny Cash, who dropped by for a photo opportunity only) later gained fame as the “Million Dollar Quartet” session.

Lewis did not have to wait long for his own fame to arrive. In March 1957, Sun issued “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” his version of a song by honky-tonk singer-pianist Roy Hall that had been covered by R&B shouter Big Maybelle. Billed to “Jerry Lee Lewis and His Pumping Piano,” the throbbing, boogie-woogie-inflected single scored on three charts – country (No. 1), R&B (No. 1) and pop (No. 3).

An attempt to cut a follow-up number penned by Otis Blackwell that October sparked a furious argument between Lewis and Phillips about the nature of sin that was recorded and later frequently bootlegged. The pianist finally acquiesced and recorded “Great Balls of Fire,” which climbed to No. 3 on the pop and R&B charts and reached No. 1 on the country chart.

Lewis captured national attention with a frenzied performance on “The Steve Allen Show” and caught hits in early 1958 with “Breathless” and “High School Confidential”; he appeared on screen in the latter song’s namesake exploitation picture, banging out the tune on the back of a flatbed truck.

He looked unstoppable, but Lewis’ roll ended abruptly after word surfaced during a May 1958 British tour that he had married Myra Gale Brown, the 13-year-old daughter of his bassist J.W. Brown and his first cousin once removed. The validity of his second divorce was also called into question. Lewis’ maladroit interviews with scandal-loving Fleet Street journalists did not quell the public tempest. He was pilloried by the press overseas, and then at home.

An open letter from Lewis that ran as an ad in Billboard that June began, “I have in recent weeks been the center of a fantastic amount of publicity, of which none has been good….I hope that if I am washed up as an entertainer it won’t be because of this bad publicity.”

Lewis saw his records expire from lack of airplay, and suddenly found himself banished to the seediest clubs in America. Sun even attempted to sneak Lewis’ instrumental “In the Mood” by the public under the pseudonym “The Hawk,” but the ploy fooled no one. To most record buyers, he was poison.

Lewis remained with Sun until 1963, the year after his son Steve Allen Lewis drowned in the family pool. That year, he was signed to Mercury Records. His rockabilly-styled singles for the Smash subsidiary found little favor.

His best records of the period were live shots, the finest of which was a manic 1964 set (originally only issued overseas) backed by England’s Nashville Teens and recorded before an amped-up, chanting crowd at Hamburg’s raucous Star-Club, the notorious Reeperbahn venue that had hosted the Beatles in their salad days.

In “Lost and Found,” his 2009 book about the album, Joe Bonomo called it “one of the most honest and shockingly rocking albums ever made, by a man who many in his own homeland considered a stained and wicked has-been during a brutal passage in his career where he had to dig deep to find what moved him.”

After five fruitless years at Mercury, Lewis finally struck pay dirt when producer Jerry Kennedy began recording the renegade rocker in a pure honky-tonk format. Starting with “Another Place Another Time,” No. 4 in 1968, Lewis racked up a string of 13 top-five country singles over a three-year period. Four of them – “To Make Love Sweeter For You,” “There Must Be More to Love Than This,” “Would You Take Another Chance On Me” and a remake of the Big Bopper’s “Chantilly Lace” – topped the chart. Over the course of his career, he placed 63 singles on the U.S. country chart.

In the 1995 oral biography “Killer,” written with Charles White, Lewis said of his stylistic expansiveness, “I had the audience kinda mixed up for a while. They knew I was a rock ’n’ roll singer so they didn’t know what to make of all this country stuff. On tour we always went back to ‘Great Balls of Fire’ and ‘Whole Lotta Shakin’.’ No matter how many country hits I had I always went back to rock ’n’ roll ‘cause that’s what people want, and that’s what I do best.”

In 1970 — in what many saw as a transparent attempt to salvage his crumbling marriage — a momentarily penitent Lewis abandoned country, proclaimed himself “saved” and recorded a pair of gospel albums. He was playing country music again within weeks, and Myra Gale filed for divorce that year. Lewis piled up several lesser country hits as the ‘70s progressed, and issued the requisite all-star London date “The Session” in 1973.

His transgressive behavior regularly captured the headlines. In 1976, after wrecking his Rolls-Royce in a drunk-driving accident, he was arrested, intoxicated, with a loaded derringer on the grounds of Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate. The same year, he shot his bassist Butch Owens in the chest with a .357 Magnum handgun; Owens survived, and only minor charges were filed. Failure to pay income taxes for years led to a 1979 raid on Lewis’ home by the Internal Revenue Service. Thanks to a variety of alcohol-related ailments, he bounced in and out of hospitals for years, losing a third of his stomach to ulcer surgery in 1985.

Amid the chaos, he managed to sustain a career. A 1979-80 sojourn at Elektra Records yielded the latter-day signature “Rockin’ My Life Away,” a heartfelt No. 10 cover of the dreamy “Wizard of Oz” standard “Over the Rainbow” and the No. 4 mid-life lament “Thirty Nine and Holding.” A ‘80s stint with MCA produced no hits, but Lewis garnered attention in 1986 when he returned to Sun Studio for “Class of ’55,” a reunion album on Smash that also featured Cash, Perkins and Roy Orbison.

In 1989, Lewis recorded the music for Jim McBride’s biopic “Great Balls of Fire,” drawn from ex-wife Myra Gale’s caustic depiction of their life together; he was portrayed, unconvincingly, by Dennis Quaid. Its subject was reportedly not fond of the picture.

Except for “Young Blood,” a tortuously completed 1995 album for Sire Records, Lewis contented himself with live performing until 2006, when the all-star duets set “Last Man Standing” was issued by multi-millionaire Steve Bing’s Shangri-La Music.

In the 2015 edition of his 1975 book “Mystery Train,” Greil Marcus wrote of the seemingly indestructible performer’s comeback, “Lewis’ death has been announced any number of times over the years, which gave him the chance, in 2006, to spit at the world with ‘Last Man Standing.’”

A pair of similarly styled sequels followed: “Mean Old Man” (2010) and “Rock & Roll Time” (2014). A 2019 stroke sidelined him and affected his ability to play the piano, but a 2020 news report said he would record vocals on an album of gospel music for producer T Bone Burnett.

In 2014’s “Jerry Lee Lewis: His Own Story,” he asked his biographer Rick Bragg, with some understatement, “I’ve had an interestin’ life, haven’t I?”

Lewis is the subject of the 2022 critically acclaimed documentary “Jerry Lee Lewis: Trouble in Mind” from director Ethan Coen — his first solo feature — and producer T Bone Burnett.

Lewis suffered from a minor stroke in 2019. He posted on Instagram that he was too sick to attend his Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony last week.

“It is with heartfelt sadness and disappointment that I write to you today from my sick bed, rather than be able to share my thoughts in person,” Lewis wrote. “I tried everything I could to build up the strength to come today — I’ve looked so forward to it since I found out about it earlier this year. My sincerest apologies to all of you for missing this fine event, but I hope to see you all soon.”

Divorced by Myra Gale in 1970, Lewis remarried four times. Wife Jaren Pate drowned in 1983. A two-month marriage to Shawn Stephens ended with her fatal drug overdose in 1984. Sixth spouse Kerrie McCarver divorced him in 2004. He wedded his caregiver, Judith, in 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Coghlan Lewis, his children Jerry Lee Lewis III, Ronnie Lewis, Phoebe Lewis and Lori Lancaster, sister Linda Gail Lewis, cousin Jimmy Swaggart and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made in Jerry Lee Lewis’ honor to the Arthritis Foundation or MusiCares – the non-profit foundation of the GRAMMYs / National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Khloé Kardashian wears Yeezy sneakers after Adidas drops Kanye West - Page Six

KhloĂ© Kardashian isn’t burning her sneakers – or perhaps her bridges.

The reality star stepped out on Wednesday, taking daughter True Thompson to an art class wearing a gray sweatsuit and a pair of Kanye West’s Yeezy 350 sneakers.

The choice is an odd one, as Yeezy distributor Adidas dropped West — who’s KhloĂ©’s ex-brother-in-law — earlier this week following his anti-Semitic comments, “White Lives Matter” rants and alleged Hitler obsession.

While not a single member of the Kardashian-Jenner family has directly called out West for his behavior, 38-year-old Khloé was the first to post a statement on social media condemning anti-Semitism.

“I support my Jewish friends and the Jewish people,” Kardashian, 38, wrote on Twitter in the wee hours of Monday morning.

Kim Kardashian, who shares children North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm with Ye, shared her own statement on Instagram as well, writing in part, “hate speech is never OK or excusable.”

She added, “I stand together with the Jewish community and call on the terrible violence and hateful rhetoric towards them to come to an immediate end.”

While West’s former family has hinted at their collective disapproval of his sentiments, other celebrities — like Josh Gad, Sophia Bush and Kat Dennings — were more bold in urging Adidas to end its lucrative partnership with the rapper.

Even Harry Styles may have sent a subtle message, swapping his usual Gucci x Adidas sneakers for Vans during a concert earlier this week.

While Adidas may no longer be associated with Ye, the designer is scurrying to save his billion-dollar empire; West showed up uninvited to the Skechers headquarters Wednesday to try and strike a deal, though he was turned away.

Perhaps it’s time for KhloĂ© to make like Gap and clear her shelves of all things Yeezy.

Chris Redd punched in the face ahead of Comedy Cellar show in Manhattan - The A.V. Club

All comedians have to learn to handle a heckler or two—emboldening critics is often just another day on the job. But getting punched in the face before even stepping onstage to perform? That’s one for the books for anyone, even in a post-Slap era.

Unfortunately, a pre-set attack was exactly the plight Saturday Night Live alum Chris Redd faced at Manhattan comedy venue the Comedy Cellar on Wednesday night, when an unknown assailant struck him across the face ahead.

Per an initial police investigation obtained by New York’s ABC7 Eyewitness News, Redd was exiting his vehicle around 9:40 P.M. E.T. on Wednesday night when an unknown assailant charged him. The attacker (who was reportedly disguised as a security guard) punched Redd in the face before fleeing the scene.

After the incident, Redd was reportedly transported to Bellevue Hospital with a profusely bleeding nose. No arrests have been made yet in the altercation, although the perpetrator has been described as wearing a “blue ‘security’ jacket, black pants, black grey and white sneakers and a bucket hat.” It’s still not exactly clear what spurned the assault on Redd, and the attacker still hasn’t been identified.

Regardless of motive, this isn’t the first incident of onstage violence against comedians this year. At the Netflix Is A Joke Festival in May, Dave Chappelle was attacked onstage at the end of his set. After the attacker, Isaiah Lee, was apprehended, the LAPD confirmed he had been in possession of a weapon that could “eject a knife.”

In comparison to Redd, Chappelle’s stand up has become rightfully maligned in recent years, due to the comedian’s extensive exploration of blatantly transphobic content. But even from an activism standpoint, it’s hard to argue that clocking your evening’s entertainment in the jaw before or during their time onstage is the most restorative way to express dissent.

Kanye West's $15,000 a year Donda Academy closes 'effective immediately' amid antisemitism controversy - Yahoo Entertainment

Donda Academy, the private school founded by Kanye West, abruptly closed as the rapper's antisemitism scandal grows. The Times of London obtained an email sent by principal, Jason Angell, to parents that said read "at the discretion of our founder, Donda Academy will close for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year effective immediately."

"There is no school tomorrow [Thursday]," the email adds. The Times reports there are about 100 students at the school and 13 full-time teachers.

West opened the unaccredited Christian school, which is named after his late mother, outside of Los Angeles. The school serves pre-K to 12th grade students and reportedly costs $15,000 a year. Parents are required to sign non-disclosure agreements, which only leads to the secrecy surrounding Donda Academy.

"Join the mission to provide the youth with the passion, purpose and spiritual foundations they need to thrive in tomorrow's world," the school's website declares while promising a faith-based education.

It's unclear what will happen to the students enrolled at Donda Academy — but the four children West shares with ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, are not among them. He has publicly slammed Kardashian for not letting their kids — North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3 — attend.

West appeared to confirm the closure news in a now-deleted social post. The rapper was active on Instagram overnight, the same platform that restricted his content due to antisemitic messages. The "Runaway" singer doubled down on his hateful rhetoric in various interviews and will not walk back his statements. Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga are just a few of the companies that severed ties with in amid controversy.

Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, one of the most powerful agents in Hollywood, wrote an op-ed last week and called on companies to stop partnering with West. The rapper seemed to respond on social media, writing he "lost 2 billion dollars in one day."

"The money is not who I am," West declared. "The people is who I am."

Donda Academy's basketball team was kicked out of a high-profile tournament this week as controversy surrounding West grows. According to the email sent by Angell, the school plans to reopen in September 2023.

"Our leadership team will be working diligently to assist all families during this transition, ensuring that every scholar has what they need to succeed in their next community in a prompt and gracious manner," he writes. "We are confident that our scholars will continue to advance as the creative innovators, courageous influencers and academic leaders of the next generation."

"I think my parents originally brought the idea to us for an engagement party, just because we obviously had an unconventional engagement," Pitt told PEOPLE at the time. "We got engaged and it was a secret for a period of time. So this was a nice idea to bring some of our family and close friends together to celebrate a whole year later."

"We're happy that it's finally happening," Pitt added, "even though there was a bit of a delay."

Skechers executives escort Kanye West out of building, company says - CNN

New York CNN Business  —

Athletic shoe company Skechers said in a statement Wednesday that two of its executives escorted embattled musician Kanye West from one of its Los Angeles buildings.

The company said West, who has legally changed his name to Ye, “arrived unannounced and without invitation.” It said he was engaged in “unauthorized filming” and he was escorted out “after a brief conversation.”

“Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West,” the company said in its Wednesday statement. “We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech.”

West’s visit to Skechers (SKX) comes a day after Adidas ended its partnership with the musician with “immediate effect.” Adidas put the “partnership under review” in early October after he wore a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt in public. The Anti-Defamation League categorizes the phrase as a “hate slogan” used by White supremacist groups, including the Ku Klux Klan.

Recently, West said “I can say antisemitic s*** and Adidas cannot drop me,” during a tirade against Jews on the Drink Champs Podcast. He also threatened on Twitter to “Go death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”

Other companies that have pulled back from West in recent days include Gap, Foot Locker and TJ Maxx.
