'Sixth Sense' star Haley Joel Osment's tribute to 'true legend' Bruce Willis - New York Post

I see love, people.

Haley Joel Osment still holds his “Sixth Sense” costar Bruce Willis in the highest regard.

Osment, 33, shared a beautiful tribute to the 67-year-old action legend following news of the latter’s aphasia diagnosis and retirement from Hollywood.

“It’s been difficult to find the right words for someone I’ve always looked up to—first on the big screen, and then by some wild stroke of luck, in person,” Osment wrote alongside a throwback snap of the “Death Becomes Her” star on social media Thursday.

The “Pay It Forward” star added, “He’s a true legend who has enriched all of our lives with a singular career that spans nearly half a century.”

“I am so grateful for what I got to witness firsthand, and for the enormous body of work he built for us to enjoy for years and years to come,” he continued.

Osment concluded his touching statement by offering more kind words and heartfelt support: ‘”I just wanted to express the respect and deep admiration I have for Bruce and his family as they move forward with the courage and high spirits that have always defined them.”

Osment starred as a disturbed kid named Cole in the 1999 supernatural thriller “Sixth Sense.” Willis portrayed a child psychologist who attempts to help Cole navigate his ability to communicate with dead people.

“Sixth Sense” director M. Night Shyamalan also penned a tribute to Willis earlier this week.

“All my love and respect to my big brother Bruce Willis. I know his wonderful family is surrounding him with support and strength. He will always be that hero on that poster on my wall as kid,” the “Glass” filmmaker tweeted.

Osment previously discussed with The Post the film’s ever-lasting legacy and his career as a child star. He noted that hearing the drama’s iconic line — “I see dead people” — has become “easier” for him.

“That’s become easier as I’ve gotten older because I don’t look quite the same as I did when that film came out,” he said. “But it’s kinda cool the film has had that long of a life span.”

Willis’ family announced on March 30 that he was diagnosed with the brain disorder and would be stepping back from Hollywood.

“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” the “Die Hard” actor’s family said in a statement.

“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support,” they added. “As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”

Miley Cyrus Says She Has COVID-19, ‘But It Was Definitely Worth It’ - Yahoo Entertainment

Miley Cyrus revealed Friday (April 1) on Twitter that she has COVID-19, but she has no regrets: “It was definitely worth it.”

The pop star has been touring Latin America for the past week, with a concert in Bogota, Colombia, and a performance at Lollapalooza Brazil in Sao Paolo.

More from Billboard

“Traveling around the world, playin for 100,000 people a night & meeting hundreds of fans a day, the chances of getting Covid are pretty high,” Cyrus tweeted. “I have Covid now but it was definitely worth it.”

Cyrus was also set to play Paraguay’s Asunciónico festival on March 23, but the event’s second day was canceled due to inclement weather. The singer had a front-row seat to that dangerous weather when her plane was struck by lightning en route to the festival. “To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción. Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting,” she wrote along with a video of scary lightning strikes flashing outside the window of the plane. “My crew, band, friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing.”

It’s been an emotional week for Cyrus, who is also mourning the unexpected death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins at age 50. The drummer was found dead in his hotel room in Bogota, Colombia, ahead of the band’s scheduled performance alongside Cyrus at Lollapalooza Brazil.

Onstage at Lolla, Cyrus tearfully remembered her late friend. “We had to make this emergency landing, and the first person I called was Taylor because he was already at the festival,” she recalled. “That would’ve been the time that I would’ve gotten to see my friend, and I didn’t, so it makes me really sad. I would’ve done anything to hang out with him one more time.”

She went on to dedicate “Angels Like You,” a rock ballad from her Plastic Hearts album, to Hawkins, as a photo of the drummer was displayed behind her.

Bruce Willis' wife, Emma Heming, 'grateful' for love after aphasia diagnosis - Page Six

Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Heming, thanked fans for their outpouring of love after announcing the actor was diagnosed with aphasia.

“your love, support, compassion, prayers really help. I’m grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Heming, 43, wrote in a post on her Instagram Story Thursday.

Willis’ family announced in a statement Wednesday that he would be “stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him” due to aphasia, a condition that affects the ability to communicate.

“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support,” the family said. “We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.”

Page Six exclusively reported that Willis, 67, had been having trouble remembering his lines on the sets of his recent films.

“He was having cognitive problems; they all knew Bruce was having problems,” an insider told us. “Everybody knew, the cast and crew. His family has stepped in; they moved in to take care of him.”

The source added that the “Die Hard” star was using “earpieces … for them to feed him the lines” and that “it was increasingly difficult to have him on screen.” Additionally, a body double was apparently being used, not just for stunts but to “maximize” his screen time.

“He could not act anymore,” the insider said.

Willis and Heming tied the knot in March 2009 and share two daughters together: Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 7.

Ahead of the news of her husband’s diagnosis, the model shared a photo to Instagram on March 21 in which she and Willis had tears in their eyes at their wedding.

“13 years ago, those wedding speeches really sent us over the edge 🤍😂 ,” she wrote.

The Emmy winner also shares three daughters — Rumer, 33, Scout, 30, and Tallulah, 28 — with ex-wife Demi Moore, to whom he was married from November 1987 to October 2000.

Page Six exclusively reported Thursday that Moore, 59, has been secretly dating Eleven Madison Park restaurateur Daniel Humm.

Box Office: Jared Leto’s ‘Morbius’ Sinks Teeth Into $5.7M in Previews - Hollywood Reporter

Jared Leto’s new movie Morbius — centering on the character known as “The Living Vampire” in the Marvel comic books from whence he hails — flew to a promising $5.7 million in Thursday previews at the domestic box office.

The Sony pic could open anywhere from $33 million to $40 million-plus for the weekend. The studio is being uber cautious and stressing the $33 million estimate. Insiders at Sony note that Morbius isn’t a traditional superhero pic, but more of a genre film based on one of the many Marvel characters Sony holds the rights to.

Director Daniel Espinosa‘s film sees Leto juggle time as the brilliant Dr. Michael Morbius — who has spent his life searching for a cure for the rare fatal blood disease that afflicts him — and as the blood-sucking monster he becomes, which fills his soul with horror.

Morbius received poor reviews, holding just a 15 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics. It held previews beginning at 4 p.m. local time in 3,583 locations.

Matt Smith and Adria Arjona also star in Marvel’s origin story of the conflicted antihero, who gets cozy with vampire bats to treat his disorder. The cast also includes Jared Harris, Al Madrigal and Tyrese Gibson.

Morbius should have no trouble winning the weekend.
